Time to travel to the past or future

I think I would like to go to the past rather than go to the future because to be honest I dont think I am very optimistic about what awaits us as humans, as time goes by society doesnt improve and becomes worse morally. I would like to travel to the past to be able to make changes in my life, I know it sounds a bit utopian but if I had the opportunity I would do it without hesitation, because I feel that the decisions I made a few years ago have repercussions on my present.

If I had the opportunity to travel to an era just for fun, I would choose to travel to the pre-Hispanic era because I have always been curious to know how Santiago was before it was this great city, I imagine visiting the places where there used to be big forests and see the amount of wildlife that lived in those areas at that time.

I think that being able to travel to the past would be a great responsibility because you could change the history of humanity as we know it today, and everything would be very different maybe. I imagine so many options having that possibility such as being a hero of time and avoiding catastrophes or just helping people.

I feel that I would like to be able to stay in the past for a while to be able to remember and relive moments when I felt a more genuine happiness I think, but only for a moment because I like my present as well.
